The evaluation of internal or external candidates for senior positions is an essential part of the recruitment process, enhancing the chances of making the right appointment and minimising the risk of a costly and often demoralising mistake. Our assessments are carried out by principal consultants: Chartered Psychologists, with substantial business experience. (Assessments can also be linked to coaching programmes or large-scale management audits.)

Assessment helps to provide the following:

  • an objective and independent view of external and internal candidates
  • benchmarking against executives of equivalent status in similar organizations
  • Insights into strengths and development needs that create the foundations for career management and succession planning.

We conduct a comprehensive assessment using psychological measures and produce a written report which we discuss with the individual as part of a comprehensive feed-back process.. We examine salient features of the person's curriculum vitae, identify career themes and determine clear strengths and areas for support or development. We can use our own, generic, competency model for directors and executives as a basis, or we can work within your own competency framework.

Our aim is not to produce an assessment in isolation, but to make sure that our work has impact and benefit to the organisation as a whole.
